About Us

WHO WE ARE?

LEADER IN THE TREATMENT OF THE EYE.

Our patients are provided modern treatment and expert care at the highest international level.

The Eye Institute is a modern ophthalmological clinic located in Warsaw. We have the state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic equipment, which, in hands of experienced ophthalmologists from our team, enables us to early and precisely diagnose and apply effective treatment of eye diseases and vision defects in adults and children.

Our Clinic specialises in comprehensive diagnostics and treatment of retina diseases (AMD, diabetic retinopathy) and glaucoma as well as diagnostics and treatment of diseases and disorders of the anterior segment of an eye (e.g. corneal dystrophies, the dry eye syndrome), modern cataract surgery, vision defects correction and vision therapy. It has a separate division devoted to paediatric ophthalmology.

WHO WE ARE?

WORLD-CLASS EXPERTS AND SPECIALISTS.

Quality of our services is guaranteed by the excellent team of over 40 experts: ophthalmologists, paediatric ophthalmologists, optometrists and orthoptists.  Among our partners are world-class experts, including Medical Director of the Eye Institute, President of the Polish Society of Glaucoma Prophylaxis, Professor Krystyna Czechowicz-Janicka MD, Ph.D. Professor Janusz Czajkowski MD, PH.D., as well as a few dozen of experts with vast knowledge and many years of clinical experience. Our specialists take active part in domestic and international conferences and their scientific papers are published by the most important national and international specialist journals, which guarantees comprehensive expertise of our ophthalmologists.

UNIQUE IN EUROPE EQUIPMENT

RETINA REJUVENATION THERAPY

We were the first clinic in Poland and Central and Eastern Europe to purchase an innovative 2RT laser, intended for treatment of early Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD).

2RT (Retinal Rejuvenation Therapy) is the first non-invasive procedure which consists of natural and biological stimulation of the retina affected by the initial stage of AMD.

ONE OF THE FEW in EUROPE AS-OCT Casia2

As the first in the country and one of the first in Europe, we have the latest, second generation of a device for anterior eye segment tomography – ASOCT Casia 2. The device allows for cross-sectional imaging of structures of the eye anterior segment: cornea, angle, anterior chamber, central part of the lens and iris and performing extremely precise corneal topography (corneal map). To create a corneal map in astigmatism, keratoconus and corneal deformations, we also use keratograph, with which we also perform pupilometry.

MOST INNOVATIVE OCT TOMOGRAPHY GENERATION

We are the first in the country to have the latest generation of the most accurate eye OCT scanning (optical coherence tomography of the fundus oculi) in the world today –  famous Spectralis HRA+OCT2. Thanks to this device, we may examine retinal tissue of even 1 micromillimeter in size. The device is used in diagnostics and monitoring of treatment of all retinal disorders, including AMD and diabetic retinopathy as well as in glaucoma.

NEW GENERATION OF PERIMETRY

Finding possible scotoma in the visual field, developing in the course of the disease is easier thanks to perimetry. In addition to the conventional visual field test (perimetry), in the Eye Institute it is possible to perform a specialised visual field test in glaucoma: frequency doubling technology (FDT) perimetry – much more precise visual field than the conventionally used computer perimetry, as well as specialised perimetry used in retinal diseases it is so-called microperimetry, which is performed with the use of the new generation MAIA devicea new-generation perimeter imaging device, based on a scanning laser for real-time eye tracking.

MOST SAFETY & MODERN CATARACT SURGERY SYSTEM

We use the most modern phacoemulsification system in the world at the moment – the Centurion Vision System device. Its characteristic features are the highest quality and repeatability of performed surgeries, thus guaranteeing patients’ safety and satisfaction.

NON-INVASIVE ANGIOGRAPHY

We can very precisely see the pigmented epithelium, the deepest layer of the retina. Fluorescein angiography, in turn, makes it possible to detect exudates from retinal vessels, most commonly found in the wet (neovascular, exudative) type of AMD and diabetic retinopathy.

Apart from traditional fluorescein angiography we perform angio-OCT – a non-invasive examination of microvascular blood flow in the retina without the use of contrast. This is the only examination that can be performed on pregnant women, children and people who are allergic to fluorescein.
